Made for another world

“If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.”  (C.S. Lewis)

“We do not want merely to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough.  We want something else which can hardly be put into words–to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it . . . . At present . . . [w]e cannot mingle with the splendors we see.  But all the leaves of the New Testament are rustling with the rumor that it will not always be so.  Someday, God willing, we shall get in.” (C.S. Lewis)

“It was when I was happiest that I longed most…The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing…to find the place where all the beauty came from.”  (C.S. Lewis)
